Mark Farner joined Terry Knight & The Pack when the guitarist Curt Johnson was drafted in the mid-sixties. Mark, Don & Mel formed GRAND FUNK RAILROAD with Terry Knight as producer in 1969. Terry Knight left the group in 1971 and Craig Frost joined GRAND FUNK permanently in 1973. The band broke up in 1976.

Mark Farner started his solo career in 1977, after the breakup of GRAND FUNK. His first album "Mark Farner" was followed by "No Frills" in 1978.  This second album contains a cool version of the global megahit, "When a man loves a woman". Mark starts to produce christian records under the Frontline label in 1988. His band was called MARK FARNER & THE GODROCKERS. Three albums and a compilation recording is the result between 1988-1992.
